Instruction for "Average Daily Budget" Feature

📖 Feature Overview:

The current "Budget Reset Cycle" is calculated daily. Many advertisers face the problem of their budget not being fully utilized on weekdays, yet they have insufficient budget on weekends. To solve this issue, Mintegral has recently launched a new feature—"Average Daily Budget"—designed to further optimize your campaign performance and make more rational use of your budget.

With the "Average Daily Budget" feature, you can flexibly extend the budget cycle, originally calculated daily, to a longer time period, 1 week. This helps in better planning and controlling your budget, avoiding waste during the weekdays and insufficient budget during weekends. This feature allows you to maintain stable and efficient campaign performance and ROI.

1. How to Use "Average Daily Budget" at the Offer Level

1.1 Set the "Average Daily Budget"

You need to check the "Average Spending Budget" option.

1.2 "Average Daily Budget" Calculation Logic

  • Cycle Definition: Sunday - SaturdayNatural Week
  • Constraints:
    • Daily actual spend should not exceed 150% of the average daily budget; otherwise, the offer will be inactive.
    • The actual spend in each cycle should be less than or equal to the available budget for the cycle; otherwise, the offer will be inactive.
  • Calculation logic:
    • Available budget for the cycle = historical daily average budget + current day's daily average budget + latest daily average budget * remaining days
      • Here is an Example for Better Understanding:
        • If your offer was activated on Wednesday at 10:00 with a daily budget of $10, the available budget for that natural week is $40 (with no historical daily average budget), and the maximum daily average budget is $15.
        • If the daily average budget is modified to $20 on Thursday at 12:00 , and $20 has been spent so far. Therefore, the available cyclical budget for the natural week is $10 (Wednesday’s daily average budget) + $10 (Thursday’s daily average budget) + $20 (latest daily average budget) * 2 = $60. The remaining available budget is $40. The maximum daily average budget for Thursday is $10 * 1.5 = $15, and the maximum daily average budget for Friday and Saturday is $20 * 1.5 = $30.
        • The average daily budget is modified to $5 on Friday at 14:00. At this point, a total of $50 has already been spent. Therefore, the available cyclical budget for the natural week is $10 + $10 + $20 + $5 = $45. The remaining available budget is $-5. Since the remaining budget is insufficient, the current offer will be immediately paused and will restart in the next natural week with a daily average budget of $5.

⚠️ Notes:

Due to the conversion process from impression to click and then to install, there is a certain delay between the impression and the install. As a result, the actual spending may still exceed the set daily budget and the available cyclical budget.

1.3 Modify the "Average Daily Budget"

  • The system will check the relationship between the spent amount and the available budget. If the modification leads to a scenario where the spent amount exceeds the available budget, the offer will stop.
  • The modification will take effect the next day, except in cases where the offer is paused.
  • When you modify the "Average daily budget", the following prompt will pop up automatically:
    • The budget modification will take effect the next day. If the periodic spending amount exceeds the cyclical available budget, modifying the budget will result in offer suspension. Please set it appropriately and avoid frequent modifications.

1.4 Special Area/All Area and Shared/Separated Budget Logic

When the "average daily budget" of the offer is set to "special area" and "shared budget", if you want to modify targeted areas (including the automatic modification caused by deleting targeted areas), the effective logic is as follows:

  • After the targeted areas is modified, it will take effect immediately. If the effective area and the average daily budget are modified at the same time, the average daily budget will also take effect immediately.
  • Restarting the average daily budget calculation is equivalent to setting the historical average daily budget to zero, and the spending amount consumed before will no longer be calculated.
    • Here is an example for easy understanding:
      • originally set US and UK as a group, sharing the "average daily budget" of $200.
        • After deleting US, UK will have an exclusive "average daily budget" of $200, and the "average daily budget" will be calculated again.
        • When deleting US and adding CA, CA and UK will share the "average daily budget" of $200, and the "average daily budget" will be calculated again
  • When you modify the "average daily budget", the system will automatically pop up the following prompt:
    • The regional modification will take effect immediately and the cyclical budget calculation will be restarted. The amount spent in this cycle will no longer be counted. Please set it appropriately and avoid frequent modifications.

2. Offer Status Changes

  • If daily spending exceeds 150% of the "Average Spending Budget", the offer status will change to:
    • Over Average Daily Budget
  • If weekly spending exceeds the "Cyclical Budget," the offer status will change to:
    • Over Cyclical Budget

3. Email Notifications

If your actual spending exceeds the cyclical budget for the week, you will receive an email alert as follows:
